My mother just before her death in 2002 she was able to find out who her birth mother was. She was adopted as a four year old and her name was Winifred Emily Somers born at Thorndale House Belfast on the 29 August 1930., her mother being Eleanor Somers a domestic. My mother was adopted as a 4 year old by Matthew and Thomasina Curran from Ballyrickardmore Raloo Larne Northern Ireland. It has been 78 Years since her birth so perhaps it is possible to see her record of herself and the mother Eleanor. My mother was told it was a private adoption but perhaps the court records can tell us more. Our interest would be mainly to find out our mother's early life and her mother Eleanor who she was etc. If there is anyone who may have worked at Thorndale house or perhaps may have knowledge of the Somers family it would be most appreciated if you could help us to find out just who I and my sisters are.

| seeking information on Margaret Jane Rafferty who had a son, jerome kevin in Belfast Jubilee Hospital on 17 February 1944. On original birth certificate she was listed as living formerly at 2 Hill Street,Belfast (which was a commercial Property) and was a domestic servant there. |

| I am seeking the last known whereabouts of Mary ethel Atkinson,nee dunnion(dunnan), she gave three girls up for a convent in 1948 in strabane, and one boy in Birmingham. may have returned to Ireland after divorce in 1947, may have lived under another name of Doherty, was married in Coleraine in 1940. and lived in Cross lane in a placed owned by the Doherty family. |

Hi this again is Patricia,
I have posted a message before looking for my birth mother, Nancy Prendergast, born December 8th 1927.
I have since learned that she has a sister by the name of Jean, I assume also Prendergast unless she married.
If anyone knows of Nancy or Jean, I urge you to please contact me, I am desperate to find my family and know where I came from.

| I AM LOOKING FOR MY BIRTH FATHER.I WAS BORN IN SCOTLAND, STIRLING ON THE 2ndJANUARY 1959 .I KNOW THAT MY FATHERS NAME IS JIM MCCARTHY AND HE HAS A BROTHER DANNY. THEY BOTH LODGED WITH MY GRANDMOTHER IN STIRLING WITH MY MUM BINNIE SINCLAIR AND HER SISTER RAY AND BROTHER BOBBY.I HAVE WORKED OUT THAT THEY STAYED THERE AROUND 1957 to 1958. I WASNT TOLD ABOUT MY REAL FATHER UNTILL I WAS 25 YEARS OLD. I WAS TOLD A STORY THAT HE JUMPED OUT OF A PLANE WHEN HE WAS IN THE ARMY AND HIS PARACHUTE GOT TANGLED AND WAS INJURED' THIS STORY MADE HEADLINES IN THE NEWSPAPER AND SAID HE WAS MARRIED WITH TWO SONS, IF THIS IS SO THEN I HAVE TWO STEP BROTHERS SOMEWHERE AND WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM THEM. | My mother was found in Dublin end Feb early march 1948. She was brought to hospital and described as a elongate baby. She was adopted 3yrs later from the orphanage on the Navan Road. Does anyone know who her mum might be. |
