Leslie Maynard Tyrone, Ireland Jul 01, 2003
Am seeking information on Charles Mcgorlick born around 1800 in Ballylennan, Castlederg, Tyrone. His deather certificate names his parents as Roger Mcgorlick and Unity nee Mennamin. Charles was married to Rose nee Boyd. Their children were Charles, Mary Jane, Daniel, William and James - all of whom emigrated to Victoria Australia around 1850/1851. Charles (jnr) married a Rosanna McSorley in Tyrone prior to leaving Ireland. Daniel married a Catherine Winters prior to leaving also.

The name Mcgorlick is rare in Ireland and is found more commonly in Scotland so Roger and Unity Mcgorlick may have been Scots by birth.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Regards Leslie, West Australia

Looking for information relating to my Irish ancestors, great-great-grandfather Henry MCINTYRE and great-great-grandmother Jane DERRY.
In 1861 Henry was living in Kingston, Ontario. On the census for that year his age is 27, place of birth is given as Ireland and profession as mariner. His marital status is widower. He was living with James and (?) Margaret Galloway (both born in Scotland) and is described as a member of the family.
Jane was born in Kingston, Ont. about 1840. Her mother was also Jane (born in Ireland), but I don't have a name for her father.
Henry married Jane in Kingston about 1861/62 and they had a child, Harriet. Henry must have died soon after as Jane remarried in 1865 to Alexander YOUNG, a shoemaker, also from Ireland and went on to have five more children.
Harriet married in 1882 Andrew (or Alexander) MULCAHY, who came from Limerick to Canada about 1879. He was born in Dublin around 1859. His father died at the time of his birth and his mother, Margaret, gave him in to the care of an uncle, James MULCAHY. Margaret is believed to have remarried, had two daughters and emigrated to Australia.
Andrew never spoke of his family and we know nothing of Harriet's father, Henry, so any information would be most welcome.

I am searching for information on my GGrandfather George Ormsby, he was born in Ireland and married a woman by the last name of Sutton, they emigrated to the US and lived in Brown Co. Wisconsin in the late 1880's. The woman died, after having 2 children, George Ormsby and Elizabeth. George Sr. supposedly sent to Ireland for his wife's sister, Phoebe Sutton and she came to the US to care for the children, she married George and they had 1 child, Eva Phoebe Ormsby, born April 1886 in Borwn Co. Wisconsin, she is my grandmother. Mr. Ormsby was listed on her birth certificate as a hotelkeeper. That is all I know, I heard they may have been from Dublin. Can anyone help? Thanks, Dianna Gray
