I am trying to locate a Margaret Josephine McDONNELL (known as Josie),was born on the 17th June 1917, in Dublin. She moved to Birmingham towards the end of 1947 and worked as an Assembler and later a Press Operator, at one of the Joseph Lucas Ltd. factories.
Her last known address was 108 Hazelville Road, Hall Green, Birmingham. She lived at this address until 1953/1954.
Her father was James, born in 1873 at Co. Cavan Ireland, Occupation Vanman. Married Margaret McDERMOTT in 1901. James and Margaret are known to have been living at 7 Middle Gardiner Street, Dublin, from at least 1911 - 1947.
The following siblings have been found in Ireland's 1911 Census: Mary b. 1902, Ellen b. 1904, Elizabeth b. 1906, Christina b. 1909 and a Margaret who was 4 months old but must have died sometime later.
It is not known if Margaret the Margaret I am looking for, ever married.

I am trying to find information about my family, as well as find living relatives in Northern Ireland. My Grandparebts, my father and my uncles emigrated to the U.S. in the mid to late 1920s. The family seems to be from county Tyrone, possibly,Dungannon. My Grandfather's name was James Roy McNeill, born in 1885, and my Grandmother's maiden name was Mary Jane Farrell, Born in 1889. The other names I have any information on are Susan Beattie, who died in Killyman sometime in the 70s or 80s (I don;t have the date and I'm guessing) She might have been my grandmother's sister. There was also possibly a sister named Kate. I believe my grandmother's brother might have been Wilson Farrell, born in Jume of 1881. I also have a copy of an obituary for a Mrs Farrell (possibly Mary) who passed away in 1937. This might have been my grandmother's mother. Other than her age, I have no information to support this though. This Mrs Farrell is listed as a former principal of Killyman school. I would appreciate any information that anyone can provide. |

Here's another exercise in vagueness. Am looking for Archibald Thompson who was born about 1834, then emigrated to Canada, where he married Elizabeth Doonan (another of my futile searches). It may be that Archibald's mother's maiden name was Smiley? Thanks for any help you can give. Scoot. |
