Reply to this message   Carol Skye, Melbourne, Australia Jun 20, 2005 my dad is RICHARD TIERNEY born in Dublin in 1940, lived in Henrietta Street Dublin, his father was TIMOTHY TIERNEY, his mother was HARRIET HARRIGAN he had several brothers and sisters (Theresa Cathleen Eileen Marie?) I cant remember them all.. He went to England for work and married Pat and had me in 1961,Carol(now 44), they lived in Watford & Luton and we immigrated to Australia in 1963. He then had Paul (now 40), and Norman (now 35) He lives with me and my family, and Id like to know what became of the rest of the family. Margaret married Kearns. UNKNOWN died 1899 in Ireland. Margaret Keely and Kearns had the following children: 1. Michael Kearns was born 12 Sep 1888 in Gallway, Ireland. He died 9 May 1949 in New York. 2. Margaret Kearns was born 1896 in Gallway Ireland. She died 1912 in Gallway Ireland. 3. Eleanor Kearns was born 25 Mar 1897 in Gallway Ireland. She died 26 Oct 1969 in New York. 4. Mary Ann(Bridie) Kearns was born 24 Jan 1899. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Margaret married James Higgins. James was born 1864. He died 1940 in Headford, Ireland. Margaret Keely and James Higgins had the following children: 1. Marion Higgins was born 17 Apr 1894 in Gallway, Ireland. She died 1937 in New York. 2. Kathleen Higgins was born 24 Sep 1904 in Galway Ireland. She died 29 Jan 1985 in New York. Reply to this message   Melanie Headford, Galway Jun 16, 2005 I am trying to trace back from my grandmother Kathleen Higgins whose father is James listed below: James is listed as nearest relative on the immigration papers of his daughter Kathleen in 1919. We know that he remarried after Madeline and Kathleen were born. We know that his first wife was married prior to marrying him. There are a total of nine children between the three marriages. We assume that he was about 60 when he died making him born about 1880, the problem with this theory is that his step son Mike Kearns was born in 1888 . Mike Kearns is the oldest of the Children with Nora being the youngest and she was born in 1935. That is a huge age gap. Nora was definetely born in 1935 and is the daughter of James Higgins. Mike Kearns Date of Birth could be wrong but we know that he was about ten- fifteen years older than Kathleen who was born in 1904. Nora still ives in Gallway and is married with Five Children and several grandchildren. I have to do some extensive research in the Gallway area now that I am at a blockade in Belfast research. His parents moved from there about four years ago was the last I heard. Michael was married to his high school sweet heart in 1986 or 1987.
